How the tool works
Hourly planning price = (monthly income target + fixed costs) ÷ [available monthly hours × billable fraction × (1 − revenue fee fraction)]. The billable fraction is the entered percentage divided by 100.
Worked example
A monthly target of 1,000, fixed costs of 200, 100 available hours, 60% billable time and a 10% fee gives a planning price of about 22.22 per billable hour.
Assumptions and limits
The result is a scenario, not a market-standard rate or a promise that customers will pay that price. Zero billable time or a 100% revenue fee makes the scenario impossible.
Frequently asked questions
Should I assume every hour is billable?
Only use 100% if your stated scenario genuinely contains no unpaid working time.
Does this include tax?
No. The income target and resulting price are before tax.
